چکیده

________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Fine granularity scalable speech coding: Application to the G.729 coder This paper proposes an efficient codebook design for tree-structured vector quantization (TSVQ) which is embedded in nature. We modify the speech coding standard G.729 by replacing its original quantizer for line spectral frequencies (LSF’s) with TSVQ-based quantizer. The modified coder is fine-granular bit-rate scalable with gradual change in quality for the synthetic speech.
